Singapore Squash Rackets Association (SSRA)

Community Squash Program

About the program

In line with our mission to promote, support and advance the sport of squash in Singapore, SSRA has come up with the “Community Program” in the hopes of allowing children in Singapore to experience the squash. This program will focus on uncovering and nurturing the next generation of young squash players, ages 8 to 13, from diverse backgrounds.

Beginning in early June of 2021, the program comes in three progressive phases:

        • Mini Squash
        • Learn To Play
        • Intermediate

Students begin their journey in this program with Mini Squash, where they learn the basics of squash from professional coaches. Thereafter, they proceed to Learn To Play where they are coached on more advanced squash techniques. At the end of Learn To Play, all students will be invited to undergo a proficiency test at the National Training Centre, where they undergo a series of assessment at the National Training Centre. Upon completion of the proficiency test, all students will be awarded with a certificate of participation.

The proficiency test will allow us to identify two groups of students. Through the panel of assessors, students who do not meet the criteria of the proficiency test will be introduced to a list of private academies in Singapore to hone their skills. Students who are shortlisted for exceptional potential in squash, will be invited to proceed to the Intermediate phase of the program for more intensive trainings. Upon completion of the Intermediate training, these students will receive a certificate of achievement and be introduced to the list of private academies in Singapore where they can move on to further their passion for the sport.

This program is proudly supported by People’s Association, registration fees for passion card holders are $90 per pax (U.P. $100).
